One of the most common questions our engineers get is: "Should I use steam or thermal oil?"
The answer depends entirely on your required temperature.
The Limitation of Steam
Steam pressure rises exponentially with temperature. To get 300°C (572°F) steam, you need a boiler rated for 85 bar (1200 psi). This requires thick steel, expensive pumps, and certified high-pressure operators.
The Thermal Oil Advantage
Thermal Oil Heaters (YYQW Series) use organic fluids instead of water. They can reach 320°C at near-atmospheric pressure (< 6 bar).
Comparison Table
| Feature | Steam Boiler | Thermal Oil Heater |
| :--- | :--- | :--- |
| Max Temp (Low Pressure) | ~180°C | ~320°C |
| Corrosion Risk | High (needs water treatment) | None (oil lubricates) |
| Freezing Risk | Yes | No (oil pour point -30°C) |
| Application | Food, Sterilization, Power | Asphalt, Textiles, Plywood |
Conclusion: If you need heat > 200°C, go for Thermal Oil. It is safer, simpler, and requires less maintenance.
