Client Background
A large-scale food processing plant in Surabaya, specializing in snack foods and frying. The facility has access to abundant palm kernel shell (PKS) waste from nearby plantations.
The Challenge
Relying on expensive diesel fuel for heating was significantly cutting into profit margins. The client wanted to switch to biomass fuel to reduce operational costs but needed a boiler that could handle the high moisture content of various biomass materials without emitting black smoke, to comply with strict local environmental regulations.
Our Solution
Yudong provided a 15-ton SZL series chain grate biomass steam boiler (SZL15-1.25-T). It features a longer grate design and custom air distribution to ensure complete combustion of palm shells. A multi-tube cyclone dust collector and bag filter were installed to control emissions. The automated feeding system ensures a steady fuel supply.
