Project Specifications
Project Overview
High-efficiency biomass boiler utilizing EFB (Empty Fruit Bunches) and fibers, achieving a circular economy for the palm oil mill.
This project demonstrates our commitment to delivering high-efficiency, reliable heating solutions tailored to specific industrial needs. The system was designed to maximize energy efficiency while ensuring strict compliance with local environmental regulations.
Client Background
A large-scale palm oil plantation and processing mill in Sandakan, Malaysia. The extraction process generates huge amounts of Empty Fruit Bunches (EFB) and palm fibers, which were previously treated as waste.
The Challenge
The mill relied on expensive diesel generators for electricity and steam, severely affecting profitability. They wanted to burn their waste EFB for energy, but EFB has high moisture and high alkali content, which causes fouling and slagging in standard boilers.
Our Solution
We designed a 20-ton SZL Biomass Boiler specifically for palm waste. It features a specialized reciprocating grate to handle the high moisture EFB and large furnace volume with membrane walls to control combustion temperature and prevent slagging. We also installed soot blowers to keep heating surfaces clean.
