Client Background
A municipal heating company in Katowice, Poland, responsible for supplying heat to a residential complex of over 3,000 households. The region has a history of coal mining and relies heavily on local coal for energy.
The Challenge
The previous boilers were technologically outdated, with low efficiency (around 60%) and heavy smoke emissions that violated strict new EU environmental standards. The client needed a solution that could still utilize accessible local coal but with drastically reduced pollution and higher efficiency.
Our Solution
We supplied a 25-ton SZL Chain Grate Coal Boiler equipped with a state-of-the-art emission control suite, including a baghouse filter and wet Flue Gas Desulfurization (FGD) unit. The boiler features a membrane water wall structure to improve heat transfer and airtightness.
