Client Background
A pharmaceutical manufacturing plant in Johannesburg, South Africa, producing generic medicines and sterile injectables. The facility must adhere to strict GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) guidelines.
The Challenge
Contamination is the biggest risk in pharma production. The steam used for sterilization and HVAC humidification must be absolutely clean. The client's old carbon steel boiler had rust issues, posing a contamination risk. They also needed a system that could respond quickly to batch-process load spikes.
Our Solution
We installed a 6-ton WNS Gas Steam Boiler with a full stainless steel (304 grade) operational loop for feed water and steam contact parts. We included a thermal deaerator to remove oxygen and prevent corrosion. The burner modulation ratio is 1:10, allowing precise tracking of variable batch loads.
